I always put off calling but actually every time I do I manage to get through. The GPs are all lovely and very helpful and always call back promptly. It's ridiculous that there are no additional surgeries in the area considering the amount of new houses. Under the circumstances I think they do a very good job. I think the new phone system where you now get a number in the queue is far better than it was before we're you'd call 80 times just receive an engaged tone. So thumbs up there. I called on a Monday morning which I thought would be hopeless, number 60 in the queue and waited bout 20 mins to get to front of the queue.
The new phone system is ridiculous. Cant get trough for over a week now. I am feeling generally unwell for over a month and unable to get to the doctors. I have a child to take care of and is not really pleasant feeling unwell every day. Something should be done about this.
Appalling service . Disgusting patient care from receptionists and who on earth is able to work the app system. I have 4 chronic health problems and had to go to hospital to eventually get antibiotics. Apparently saying what is wrong with you doesn't warrant an app you actually have to say it's an emergency for them to listen.. receptionist smile while telling you to go away .do it on line .don't bother us . We don't care !!! Seems to be the over all message
The new phone system is a joke, I have been with this practice for almost 20 years & never had a complaint before, I have always been happy to have a doctor call back & most of the time i have been seen on the same day by a doctor BUT the new phone system is a pain, For 3 days i have been trying to get through to get a call back & the last 2 days i have been unable to start the call before 9am, I have been around no 70 in the queue & just as i get to around 4-5 the message changes to "all appointments are full call back tomorrow" I started the call exactly on 8:30am this morning & was no 60 in the queue & had to wait for over 35 minutes before i got through.Something needs to be done about this as not everybody can sit with a phone to there ear for upwards of an hour.
I'm sure once you get to see a GP they are lovely but the appointment system is ridiculous. I have a newborn son with a persistent cough and were advised by the health visitor to have him seen by the GP even though it is not an emergency. With this system, I can only try and get a call back if it is before 8.30am otherwise I have to phone the next day. With a newborn things change quickly so am caught between a rock and a hard place at 11am as NHS 24 advises you phone your GP! It's not an emergency but surely there must be a way to speak to a human and make an appointment at another time except this small 8.30am margin? As agreed below, no other GP practice I ever dealt with worked with this system.
